- VAUDE wins international award in the "business transformation" category
- Sustainability pioneer VAUDE leads the world
11/6/2023 – VAUDE has won the internationally sought-after Business Transformation Award 2023, which honors the world's best sustainably engaged company. Hilke Patzwall, VAUDE sustainability manager, and Jan Lorch, VAUDE Managing Director Sales & CSR, were on hand to receive the prize in London on November 1st – they took this long trip by train to be environmentally friendly. "We are very pleased about this prestigious award for our whole team, which has been committed to our vision for years with great passion, energy, and expertise!" says Jan Lorch. "This award encourages us to continue down our transformational path towards a climate-friendly future worth living," explains Hilke Patzwall.
With the Responsible Business Awards, Reuters Events has selected companies from around the world that point the way toward a responsible future with their long-term commitment for the 14th time. 280 finalists from around the world came together at the festive awards ceremony in London to celebrate their sustainable top performances in business. The award is presented in 15 categories, each of which focuses on a different aspect of sustainability. The winners were selected from more than 700 applications from 51 countries by an independent jury of 25 specialists from around the world. "These awards should not just honor companies, but also inspire them to assume a pioneering role in the decade of action. At the same time, we want to attract international recognition for these outstanding innovations, creations, and strategies," say the event’s organizers.
Business Transformation Award for VAUDE
VAUDE won in the "business transformation" category, which demonstrates how far companies are down their path toward creating a "cleaner, more stable, and just future." VAUDE was honored for its long-time measures for systematic, sustainable transformation, starting with its South German company location with its values-based corporate culture, to the global supply chain. Especially worthy of mention was the vision of creating a better quality of life thanks to sustainable products and circular business strategies.
"VAUDE has a great business model that has come a long way in the last 15 years. Its products are innovative, its procurement sustainable, and its focus on the circular economy – lending, resale, repair, upcycling – expands the range for consumers. The jury also praised the company for establishing the VAUDE Academy for sustainable economy in order to pass along its expertise. With the goal of making 90% of its products bio-based by 2024, the company leads the clothing industry with its good example," according to the jury's assessment.
Currently, VAUDE is increasingly committed to creating industry-wide recycling solutions that enable true textile-to-textile recycling – and here too, this outdoor brand is a leader. "Thanks to mono-materials, our new Rethink products already embody the idea of circular product design," explains Hilke Patzwall.
